The biceps brachii, commonly known as the biceps, is a large, two-headed muscle situated on the front of the upper arm. It originates from the scapula and inserts into the radius. Its primary functions are the flexion of the elbow joint and the supination of the forearm (turning the palm upward). It also provides some assistance in shoulder flexion.
